MEET THE FARMER…

Amy Gailey Flower Farmer

Like so many other growers out there, my love of gardening started at my grandparents’ house. Some of my earliest memories are of spending hot summer afternoons and evenings in their vegetable patch where they grew salad greens, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and beans.

In addition to the vegetables, my grandparents always had a yard full of flowers, many of which would be cut for posies and placed on sunny window sills. I got my first introduction to tulips, irises, lily of the valley, pansies, hydrangeas, azaleas and so many more in the well-kept flower beds that they joyfully tended until they passed away.

I always dreamed of having my own farm, but after moving to San Diego 21 years ago, it seemed like an impossible dream. Then one day in early 2023, inspired by another local flower farmer who farmed in her neighbors’ yards, I posted on a local message board asking if anyone had any land they weren’t using and if so, would they let me grow flowers there.

One sweet neighbor saw that post and opened her heart and her home to me. And just like that, Greeny Flower Garden Farms was born. It is a privilege to get to follow your dreams, and I am so very grateful. Through this opportunity, my mission is to share the beauty, joy, peace and healing power of garden-grown flowers with you just as my grandparents did with me.

This farm is the result of my lifelong love of all things that grow and a personal desire to never stop growing myself. Greeny Flower is not just a business, it’s a flower-filled adventure. Thank you so much for embarking upon it with me.
